Featuring Midlothian, Edinburgh, Zermatt & Tremezzo

14 days

Have some favorite European destinations you’ve always wanted to visit but can’t decide which would be best for your honeymoon? Then how about choosing a few and letting us put them together for an unforgettable trip that you and your new spouse will be talking about for years to come? For this tour, we’ve combined the beauty and grandeur of Scotland’s capital city with the romanticism of upscale Zermatt, Switzerland and stunning Lake Como, Italy, to create a trip that provides relaxation, adventure, and diversity, perfect for the couple who just can’t settle on one location.

Start your trip with a flight to Edinburgh, Scotland, where you’ll rent a car and head to the Midlothian region, just outside the city, where you’ll spend 2 nights in the Dalhousie Castle Luxury Hotel (or similar), a great base from which to explore the area. The region is home to many castles and palaces, the Scottish Mining Museum, Iron Age forts, and a number of lovely parks from which you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Next, depart for your short drive to Edinburgh for a 3-night stay that includes lots of leisure time to explore the city. During your time in the capital city, head to the magnificent Edinburgh Castle for a group tour or visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Scottish National Gallery, the Royal Botanic Garden, and the National Museum of Scotland. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the UNESCO-lauded Old Town, the city’s oldest neighborhood, featuring medieval-era buildings, historical attractions, pubs, and delightful stores selling wool items and other local wares. Don’t forget to make time for a Whiskey Tour, during which you’ll enjoy tasting experiences as well as learn about the particulars of making world-renowned Scotch Whiskey.

Upon leaving Edinburgh, you’ll fly to Geneva and hop a train to amazing Zermatt, Switzerland. Enjoy a 3-day stay at this ski resort that, in the warm weather, provides a variety of opportunities for other active pursuits as well. Zermatt is one of the few places in the world where you can ski or snowboard 365 days a year! But if you’re not a skier, you can try your hand at climbing, hiking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, paragliding, and even some fly fishing. And while you’re at it, treat yourself to a couples massage at one of Zermatt’s many day spas.

Finally, take the train to Milan, Italy and transfer by private car to breathtaking Lake Como, one of Italy’s most popular vacation spots, where you’ll spend 4 nights in a hotel with a lake view. Blessed with a Mediterranean-like climate, the area around Italy’s third-largest lake exudes warmth and beauty and is the perfect place for a relaxing end to your European honeymoon. Go sailing or consider testing your skills at windsurfing or kitesurfing. Take a ferry to some of the dozens of small towns and villages located around the perimeter of the lake and take time to enjoy the shops and chat with the locals. Or, if you prefer, spend some leisure time at your beautiful hotel, where you can sit on your balcony and simply enjoy the view.
