Luxury Tours in Courchevel

French Ski Vacation

If you’re an avid skier, perhaps you have a yen to ski all the great mountains of the world. Maybe you’ve already tackled Colorado’s Rockies or perhaps great Canadian ski resorts like Whistler or Mont Tremblant. Maybe you’ve skied some of Europe’s wonderful powder as well, including Austria’s and Switzerland’s amazing destinations. So how about a wonderful ski vacation to France?
On this week-long vacation, you’ll make your way to Courchevel, located in the French Alps and part of Les Trois Vallées – The Three Valleys – the largest linked ski area on the planet.
This ski trip takes you to the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region, located in southeast France and named, obviously, for its proximity to the Rhone River and the beautiful Alps. Courchevel is the easternmost resort in the Three Valleys region and includes four “satellite” villages known as Courchevel (formerly Courchevel 1850), Courchevel Moriond (formerly Courchevel 1650), Courchevel Village (formerly Courchevel 1550), and Courchevel La Praz (formerly Courchevel 1330). The numbers refer to the altitude (in meters) at which the villages sit.
Your trip will take you to Courchevel Moriond, a wonderful base from which to explore the entire area but a great resort in itself. It provides easily accessible skiing that best suits beginner and intermediate skiers, making it ideal for the entire family. However, advanced skiers staying in Moriond can also easily access areas more suitable to their skills, including Moriond’s big sister, located at 1850 meters. Plenty of off-piste skiing is available as well.
In addition, the town is charming, offering a variety of excellent restaurants, bars/pubs, and coffee shops where you can spend your leisure time, as well as lovely shops for browsing and spending your vacation dollars. Simply lovely!
